'Tis the Season to Give Thanks

I say this all the time, but the past couple of months flew by so quickly. It's crazy thinking that Thanksgiving is just a little less than a week away. It's been an eventful couple of months...I got engaged to my better half, went on a mini getaway in a treehouse to celebrate our one year anniversary, and I've slowly been packing to move. I would be lying if wedding planning hasn't been stressful, but I already had a list of vendors I wanted to work with and finally found my wedding dress! Things are slowly coming together and I can't wait to say I do next year! We actually booked our venue first before we got engaged because we knew there would be limited dates next year due to rescheduled weddings. I truly believe that timing is everything, because if you told me I'd be engaged this year I would've thought that was crazy talk.

2020 has been a year full of uncertainty, but there's so many reasons to give thanks. I feel like it's so easy to complain (which I'm guilty of) about what's wrong, but I started to jot down things I'm thankful for. My anxiety has been at an all time high because I didn't have health insurance for the past couple of months and I've been struggling with my skin disease which I was told there isn't a cure for. Then COVID hit and life slowly seemed to fall apart, but there's always a silver lining. My grandma tested positive but asymptomatic for COVID at her nursing home, thankfully she recovered after a week or so. God is good all the time. Her wish was to see one of us get married, and I'm happy that her wish came true. One of the things I'm grateful for is that this time has allowed for my family to spend more time together. It has also given me more time to spend with loved ones. To take a pause and step back from the everyday 9-5 workday schedule.

Also, two of my friends got engaged this year and I'm so thankful for our friendship! If there's one thing I'm thankful for covid, it's that I've been able to have meaningful conversations and cultivate relationships with lifelong friends. It's been fun sharing our wedding ideas and pictures we pinned on Pinterest. Three of us will be saying I do next year and I can't wait to celebrate! #sotp

I hope everyone stays health and safe this holiday season! Don't forget to count your blessings :)

Love, Sharon
